New in April 2004

• DeafBlind Services Minnesota (DBSM) and Department of Human Services, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Division invite you to a DeafBlind Community Town Hall Meeting. This meeting is for deafblind adults. Come to the meeting to talk about services and issues related to deafblind needs.
  Date: Thursday, June 10, 2020
  Time: 5:00-9:00 p.m.
  Where: Vision Loss Resources, 1936 Lyndale Ave S., Minneapolis. (Corner of Lyndale and Franklin.)
  Registration Deadline: Wednesday, May 26, 2004.

• The Great Lakes Area DeafBlind Conference scheduled for June 14-18 has been CANCELLED.

• Updated About the Author page to reflect the author's current position as an AmeriCorps tutor and plans for further education.

New in August 2003

• Received another award from the Education Community and posted it on the Awards page.
• Updated contact information for the Helen Keller National Center on the National (USA) Resource Guide.

New in May 2003

• Moved Web Site Accessibility information from the main page to its own Accessibility page, and added a section to help webmasters design and build accessible sites. Updated our site navigation and index features to include the new Accessibility page.
• Received another award from Deaf/Disability Community and posted it on the Awards page.
• Posted comments received from the Talking Hands Award site reviewer.

New in April 2003

• Added a new page called Learning Braille, Sign Language, and other specialized communication modes, and a related page of Print on Palm Illustrations.
• Updated the A-Z Index of Topics page to include more communication mode links.
• Received another award from the Deaf/Disability Community and posted it on the Awards page.
• Added information about a 2002 documentary film on DeafBlindness to the DeafBlind/Disability Community History page.
• Updated the A-Z Index of Topics page to include Careers Working with DeafBlind People.
• Updated the contact info for the Minnesota 1 Chapter of Self Help for Hard of Hearing People (SHHH) in the Consumer Advocacy Groups section of the Supports page.

New in March 2003

• Received two more awards from the Deaf/Disability Community and posted them on the Awards page.

New in February 2003

• Added BlindFoods.com to the list of online shopping resources on our Supports - Assistive Technology page.
• Moved the "Skip Navigation and Jump to Main Content" link so it is the first link on each page.
  Note: This is an invisible link for use by people who use screen-reading software and braille or speech output in order to access the Internet. To experience it, click in (or move your cursor to) your browser's address line, then press Tab then Enter. You will jump to the title of that page without having to tab through all the navigation links.
• Added John J. Boyer to the DeafBlind People in History page.
• Received six more web design awards and posted them on the Awards page.
• Posted praise for site accessibility received from Alicia Lane of TCDeaf.com
• Set up this "What's New" page and added it to the "Web Site Info" section to the left navigation stripe, and bottom navigation links.

New in January 2003

• Added Robert and Michelle Smithdas to the DeafBlind People in History page.
• In response to site searches performed by users of DeafBlindinfo.org, added a link to DeafBlind Pen Pals Directory - from Sense under "Support and Advocacy" in each of our Consumer Resource Guides, and to the Looking for Mailing Lists, Newsletters, or Pen Pals? section of the main Resources page.
• Added links "Back to top of page" on longer pages, to aid in navigation for text- and screenreader-based web users.
• Set up an Awards page for displaying the awards and recognitions that DeafBlindinfo.org has received.
• Received five awards - two from the disability community, two from the education community, and one for web design - and posted them on the Awards page.
• Posted praise for site content received from Toni Hollingsworth of Maryland School for the Blind and Bill Darling of the Critical Mass Awards.
• Added a "Web Site Info" section to the left navigation stripe, including quick links to Accessibility, Site Map, A-Z Index, Copyright/Disclaimers, Link to Us, Reviews, Awards, About the Author, Contact Us.
